About BSU
Beijing Sport University was founded in 1953. It is located near the
famous ancient Summer Palace (Yuan Ming Yuan), northwest of Beijing.
The university is one of the top major education establishments in
China. Its aim is to train highly qualified education teachers,
coaches, sport science researchers and other physical education
personnel.
The university attaches great importance to several international
academic exchange programs. At present, it has exchange programs with
14 universities in the United States, Canada, Germany, Japan,
Australia, Russia, Korea, Bulgaria, and Poland. Over 2000 international
students choose this prestigious university for academic exchanges on
short-term advanced studies every year, with more than 500 long-term
foreign undergraduate and postgraduate students successfully graduating
with bachelor degrees and masters.

Martial Arts Program Introduction
Beijing
Sport University Martial Arts programs combine Martial Arts (Kung Fu)
studies and practice, with Mandarin Chinese courses to enable students
at any level of Chinese language to learn genuine Chinese Martial Arts
in a fully immersed Chinese environment. Martial Arts classes are
scheduled in the morning from 8:00 am to 10:45 am Monday through
Friday, while the Chinese classes are scheduled in the afternoon from
2:00 pm to 4:30 pm every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Programs last
for a 20-week semester, each semester starting in September or March.

Program Features
-
In both Martial Arts and
Chinese language study streams, there are three periods of 45-50 minute
classes each morning and afternoon, with a ten minute break between
each period.

The number of students in
both Martial Arts and Chinese language classes is limited to ten or
under to ensure quality of teaching and close supervision by the
teacher.

At the beginning of a
program, each student¡¯s mandarin Chinese level will be
assessed and evaluated by the Chinese language faculty in order to
select the most suitable Chinese language class for the individual
student.

There are three levels of
Martial Arts: elementary, intermediate and advanced. Students will be
placed in the appropriate level based on an assessment by the Martial
Arts mentors at the beginning of the program.
