SILVER SERVICE

 

Pre-departure Support
   

1.  Enrollment into Tongji University

We will prepare and submit your application to Tongji University. Our staff will ensure that you are updated on the status of  your application from start to finish. A university application fee of 50-75 USD will be included with this service
.


2.   Visa application support

We will mail out (via express post) documents necessary for you to acquire a study visa from the Chinese embassy in your country:

  • The university admission letter
  • Visa application form (JW202 or JW201 form)
3.  Accommodation arrangements

Room reservations will be made on your behalf at your chosen accommodation.

Before your arrival in Shanghai, we will confirm your accommodation booking with the appropriate party.

Should the need arise (for example, if you change your date of arrival into Shanghai, or, change your mind regarding where you want to stay), we will make necessary changes to your accommodation reservation booking, or switch to another accommodation option prior to your departure from home.

4.  Living in China information guidance

All students will be given a copy of the China Unipath Student Handbook, which provides you with comprehensive orientation information guiding you through every stage of your study abroad experience.

In addition to the handbook, a color map of Shanghai in English and Pin Yin will show all-important bus and subway routes as well as places of interest to enrich your Chinese cultural experience.

You will also be given an emergency message card with both English and Chinese instructions leading the taxi driver to your accommodation.

We will provide various Shanghai city magazine publications showing you insiders' views of life in Beijing and the latest information on 'What's On' in the city.

The above guidance materials will be mailed out to you via express post along with the visa application documents.


Orientation Assistance

1.  Airport Pick-up and Drop-off & Accommodation Check-in

Be warmly greeted by China Unipath staff at the airport upon your arrival, which is especially important in a foreign city where you are unfamiliar with the spoken language and surroundings. Our staff will provide an introduction to Shanghai geography, climate, culture, nightlife as well as Chinese study and university campus life. We will then escort you to your chosen accommodation and provide assistance for check-in and making accommodation payment.

Upon the completion of your program, necessary transportation will be arranged and we will escort you to the airport to assure your safety and punctuality of your departure from China.

2.  Campus tour

Be accompanied on a walkthrough around the campus and surrounding area by China Unipath staff to help you settle in. We will introduce you to the classroom buildings, library, sports facilities, on-/off-campus banks for currency exchange, ATMs that accept international credit/debit cards, recommended restaurants, popular bars and nightclubs on or close to the campus, supermarket, laundry, post office, on-campus hospital and the nearest subway station. We will also assist you in purchasing a sim card for your cell phone, and show you where to buy and how to use Chinese cell phone recharge cards.

3.  Orientation material package

Upon your arrival in Shanghai, you will receive a China Unipath orientation package including:

  • Snacks and drinks for a quick meal after your long flight;
  • A That¡¯s Shanghai magazine (an English directory about living in Shanghai read by the largest number of non-Chinese citizens in Shanghai);
  • A color map of Shanghai in English, and;
  • An international telephone card of 100 RMB value for you to call your family and friends back home.

4.  Registration assistance

Our staff will walk you through every step of the registration procedure and assist you in properly handling the required payments for both accommodation and tuition, as well as obtaining your student ID and other associated paperwork for you.

You will be shown the placement test location and advised of the procedure and possible forms of placement tests.

Finally, we will assist you in setting up your broadband access internet account through an internet provider on campus, if necessary.

5.  Email advice support

Should you have any concerns or questions throughout your stay in China, we will be happy to provide you with guidance and suggestions via email at advice@chinaunipath.com.

1.  Pre-arrival assistance

We will answer inquiries and questions concerning Chinese studies, Chinese language programs, Chinese universities and institutes, life in China, visa applications, airport collection etc., prior to your arrival in China.

2.  Enrollment into Tongji University

We will prepare and submit your application to Tongji University. Our staff will ensure that you are updated on the status of  your application from start to finish. A university application fee of 50-75 USD will be included with this service

If there are any further enrollment requirements that might be made by the university under certain circumstances, we will assist you in handling and resolving these issues.

Moreover, if your application is made after the deadline, we will provide our best efforts to help you enroll into your chosen language program.

Once we receive notice of your acceptance into the university, you will be notified immediately.
